Sep 29 - 6.0 Masterclass on Mastering the Basics of 6.0

Written by Tazoar Ahsan

Overview

On Wednesday, October 1, 2026, Sharad Mehta and Tyler Scott hosted the Mastering the Basics masterclass webinar. The session ran approximately two hours and 15 minutes and was structured as a guided walkthrough of account setup fundamentals, built around the most common questions from the previous 20 office hours calls. Anthony from the team was also on hand for Zapier and API questions.

  • Always update to the latest web and app versions: click "new version available" on the web, and download app updates as soon as they appear. A new iOS version (6.0.5) was released the same day.

  • Set up custom roles for each team member and verify their access permissions. Use "copy from another user" when onboarding team members with the same role.

  • New users must complete A2P 10DLC registration before sending outbound text messages. REsimpli is on Twilio's fast track, so approval takes two to three days if the website, EIN, and email are set up correctly. Incoming texts work without A2P. REsimpli offers a free seller website that is already A2P compliant.

  • Smart routing is the recommended outbound number setting. The cascade is: record number (per-contact override), then campaign number, then personal fallback ("my number"). Each team member can set their own fallback. Smart routing is not yet available on the triple-line dialer.

  • The "use my number for new conversations" mode is best for teams where each person wants all calls and texts to go from their own line, such as nationwide teams with regional reps. iMessage numbers can be used for one-to-one conversations with active leads but should not be used for cold calling or bulk texting due to Apple's regulations.

  • Marketing campaigns no longer require a dedicated phone number. KPIs are tracked at the campaign level regardless. Use a phone number when the call to action is "call or text me" (direct mail, cold calling). Skip the phone number when leads come from web forms, PPC, PPL, or Zapier.

  • Lead assignment must be configured through a "new lead created" automation. Choose the campaign, the target pipeline and status, and the assignment method (all team members, round robin, weighted round robin, first to claim, or manual). Filter for leads where a role "does not contain" any team member to find and bulk-assign any unassigned leads.

  • Notification settings are fully customizable per user: critical, important, FYI, or digest. Users can toggle specific alert types (push, email, in-app, SMS) per event, pause all notifications temporarily, and filter by campaign. Owners should uncheck themselves from campaign phone numbers to keep seller calls out of their personal inbox.

  • Call flow setup must avoid forwarding to the same person on both in-app and cell phone simultaneously, which creates a conflict. Twilio limits simultaneous forwarding to 10 people per ring string.

  • Variable fields in SMS and email templates have been updated and migrated. Users should verify their templates are pulling the correct fields.

The call closed with Sharad previewing the Thursday, October 2, Automations Masterclass webinar and confirming Friday, October 3, as an open office hours session.
