Overview
Your External inbox holds conversations with sellers, buyers, agents, and vendors all in one list.
If you only want to see your vendor conversations — contractors, cleaners, inspectors — you can filter the inbox to show just those.
Steps
Step 1: Open your Inbox
Hover over the left side panel and click Inbox.
Make sure you are on the External tab. This is the tab that holds your sellers, buyers, agents, and vendors.
Step 2: Click Add a Filter
Click Add a Filter at the top of your inbox.
Step 3: Choose Contact Type
Under Add Parameters, select Contact Type.
Step 4: Select Vendor
Open the drop-down and select Vendor.
Step 5: Click Continue
Click Continue to apply the filter.
Your inbox now shows only your vendor conversations.
Step 6: Save the filter or use it once
You will be asked what you want to do with the filter:
Save the filter if you are managing jobs and speak to vendors daily.
Apply without saving if you only need it this once.
Step 7: Go back to your full inbox
Click the button to remove the filter. All your conversations return.
Important Notes
The letter icon tells you the contact type without opening the conversation. V is a vendor, S is a seller, B is a buyer, A is an agent.
The same steps work for the other contact types. At Step 4, choose Seller, Buyer, or Agent instead of Vendor.
You have to click Continue. Choosing the contact type on its own does not apply the filter.
This is a useful view when you are running rehabs. Filtering to vendors puts all your contractor communication in one place, away from your lead conversations.
You can add other parameters alongside contact type — for example, filtering for vendors with unread messages.
Troubleshooting
Your filter is showing everything
Check that you clicked Continue after selecting Vendor. Choosing the value is not enough on its own.
You cannot find Contact Type in the list
Scroll through the parameters under Add Parameters. Contact Type is one of the options there.
Your saved filter is not in your list
Check that you chose save the filter rather than apply without saving. A filter applied without saving is not kept.
A vendor you have been messaging is not showing
Check that the contact is saved with the Vendor contact type. Contractors added as agents will show under an agent filter instead.
A blacklisted vendor is still appearing
Blacklisting stops a vendor being selected for new work. It does not remove the existing conversation from your inbox.
You want your full inbox back
Click the button to remove the filter.
Summary
You filtered your inbox to show only vendors. You opened your Inbox on the External tab, clicked Add a Filter, chose Contact Type under Add Parameters, selected Vendor, and clicked Continue. You then chose whether to save the filter or apply it once, and removed the filter to bring back your full inbox.
