Overview
Monday, October 19, 2026. Sharad Mehta hosted an office hours Q&A at 1 PM Pacific / 4 PM Eastern.
Two updates shipped today: tasks in the lead detail are now clickable inline (edit without opening the task tab), and pagination now remembers which page you were on when you open a lead and go back.
Sharad shared Figma mockups of three automation improvements coming in 2 to 3 weeks: defer the start of an automation, start at a specific step instead of step 1, and skip a single scheduled step without stopping the entire automation.
Task templates solve the tedious manual task creation problem. Pre-populate the task name, assignee, due date, and checklist. Set up templates for common callback intervals (1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months) and select one from the dropdown to auto-fill everything.
The ChatGPT and Claude plugin (not MCP) for REsimpli is coming in 2 to 3 weeks. Users will copy an API key from their account, paste it into ChatGPT or Claude, and ask natural language questions ("how many dead leads do I have?", "show me my under contract properties"). It can add leads, export data, and create summary dashboards. More endpoints will be added after launch.
If-else conditions cannot be inserted into the middle of an existing automation. You must rebuild it. Build follow-up sequences in manual assignment automations for reusability so changes require fewer rebuilds. A future update will allow inserting if-else between existing steps.
Users are building automations in 15 to 20 minutes using the Claude browser extension. Sharad confirmed multiple users have had success with this approach.
The grid view "Batman signal" icon marks and unmarks a lead as hot. The urgency pulse numbers (recently sold, back on market) will be made clickable.

00:02:03 Trial account SMS limit and trial extension
Ray, the same trial user from October 14, reported hitting the 100-SMS trial limit again despite credits being added the previous week. Sharad confirmed the trial is designed for testing, not production use, with a 100-message cap on SMS, calls, and emails. He created another ticket to extend Ray's trial through end of October (00:04:43).
Q: What are the SMS limits on a REsimpli trial account?
A: Trial accounts are limited to 100 SMS, calls, and emails. The trial is designed for testing the system. Contact Sharad or support to request a trial extension or additional credits.
00:04:55 SMS field in lead detail pre-loads a template; clearing it or creating a blank template as the default
Kent reported that opening the SMS tab on a lead pre-populates a template instead of showing a blank text field. Sharad explained this was added by user request so teams can send templated messages faster. To work around it, either delete the pre-populated text before typing a custom message, or create a blank template and set it as the default. The pre-loaded template can be changed per user (00:09:52).
Q: Why does the SMS field in the lead detail pre-load a template instead of being blank?
A: This was added by user request for faster templated messaging. To get a blank field, either clear the text before typing, or create a blank template and set it as your default.
00:10:26 Automation defer start, choose-which-step, and skip-a-step shown in Figma mockups
Arron asked about delaying the start of an automation. Sharad shared Figma mockups showing three features shipping together in 2 to 3 weeks. First, defer start will let users delay an automation's first step after the trigger fires. Second, choose-which-step will let users start an automation at any step (for example, step 4 instead of step 1), useful when restarting after a STOP reply. Third, skip-a-step will let users skip a single scheduled step without stopping the entire automation. Clicking skip removes just that one step from the queue; clicking "add again" re-includes it. The rest of the automation continues normally (00:13:40).
Q: Can I delay an automation from firing immediately in REsimpli 6.0?
A: Not yet. Defer start is shipping in 2 to 3 weeks (approximately early November 2026) as part of the automation update.
Q: Can I skip a single step in a running automation without stopping the whole thing?
A: Not yet. A skip-a-step feature is coming in the same automation update. You will be able to skip one scheduled step and the rest of the automation continues.
Q: Can I restart an automation at a specific step instead of step 1?
A: Not yet. Choose-which-step is coming in the same update. This is useful for restarting an automation after a STOP reply without re-sending earlier steps.
00:13:47 Task templates auto-fill name, assignee, due date, and checklist for common callback intervals
Arron's lead manager was spending 20 seconds per task manually filling in every field. Sharad demonstrated task templates: go to Settings, Template and Task Template, and create templates for common callbacks (1-week follow-up, 2-week follow-up, 1-month follow-up). Each template pre-populates the task name, assignee, due date, details, and checklist. When adding a task to any lead, select the template from the dropdown and everything auto-fills. Click save and continue. Sharad recommended the same approach for SMS templates, email templates, and paste templates (00:16:12).
Path: Settings > Template and Task Template > [create templates for common callbacks] Path: Lead > Add Task > [select template from dropdown]
Q: How do I speed up task creation for my lead managers in REsimpli?
A: Set up task templates under Settings > Template and Task Template. Create one for each common callback interval (1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month). When adding a task to a lead, select the template and everything auto-fills.
Q: What fields can task templates pre-populate?
A: Task name, assignee, due date (relative to creation), details, and checklist items.
00:17:03 Two updates shipped today: inline clickable tasks and pagination memory
Sharad announced two updates shipped that day. First, tasks in the lead detail are now clickable inline. Previously, editing a task required opening the task tab, finding the task, and clicking into it. Now tasks can be edited directly from wherever they appear on the lead. Second, pagination now remembers which page you were on. Previously, if you were on page 8 of dead leads, opened a lead, and clicked back, the system returned you to page 1. Now it stays on page 8 (00:18:08).
Q: Can I edit tasks without opening the task tab in REsimpli?
A: Yes. As of October 19, tasks are clickable inline on the lead detail. Click the task wherever it appears to edit it directly.
Q: Does REsimpli remember which page I was on when I go back from a lead?
A: Yes. As of October 19, pagination memory is live. If you open a lead from page 8 and click back, you return to page 8.
00:18:13 Proof of funds, wholesaling MLS-listed properties, and contacting agents before properties hit the market
Bobby asked about getting a proof of funds letter for wholesaling two MLS-listed turnkey properties. Sharad clarified that REsimpli does not provide proof of funds letters and recommended Kiabi as a lender. He advised against wholesaling MLS-listed properties because the price is public information and there is no value add for an investor to buy through a wholesaler at a markup. The better strategy is texting and calling agents to get properties before they hit MLS. Use REsimpli to build an agent list, put them on an automation, and stay on their radar so they send you properties before listing (00:24:51).
Q: Does REsimpli provide proof of funds letters?
A: No. Sharad recommends Kiabi as a lender that provides proof of funds.
Q: Should I wholesale MLS-listed properties?
A: Sharad advises against it. The price is public, other investors have seen it, and there is no value add. The better approach is building relationships with agents to get properties before they hit the market.
00:29:00 Grid view hot lead icon, urgency pulse numbers becoming clickable, and property management referral
Brian asked about an icon in grid view that looks like a "Batman signal." Sharad confirmed it marks and unmarks a lead as hot. Brian also requested that urgency pulse numbers (recently sold, back on market) be made clickable like the ownership and legal sections. Sharad agreed to add clickability. Brian also asked about Sharad's property management company in Northwest Indiana; Sharad asked him to send an email for a connection (00:33:00).
Q: What does the flame/Batman icon do in REsimpli grid view?
A: It marks the lead as a hot lead. Click it again to remove the hot lead designation.
Q: Will urgency pulse numbers be clickable in the daily updates dashboard?
A: Yes. Sharad confirmed they will be made clickable so you can drill into recently sold, back on market, and other urgency categories directly.
00:51:10 If-else conditions cannot be inserted mid-build; manual assignment automations recommended for reusability
Gelo asked about adding an if-else branch to an existing automation that already has steps built out. Sharad confirmed this is not currently possible. If you need to add an if-else condition after building steps, you must rebuild the automation. The recommended pattern is building follow-up sequences in manual assignment automations rather than directly inside triggers. Manual automations are reusable: build once, reference from any trigger using "move to other automation." If you later need to add an if-else, the rebuild is smaller because the heavy lifting lives in the manual automation. A future update will allow inserting if-else conditions between existing steps without rebuilding (00:53:04).
Q: Can I add an if-else condition to an existing automation that already has steps? A: Not currently. You must rebuild the automation. A future update will allow inserting if-else between existing steps.
Q: Why should I build automations in manual assignment instead of directly in triggers?
A: Manual automations are reusable across multiple triggers. Build the sequence once and reference it from status changes, activity triggers, or new-lead-created automations using "move to other automation." Changes only need to be made once.
00:54:13 ChatGPT and Claude plugin for non-technical REsimpli account access coming in 2 to 3 weeks
Sharad demo'd a working prototype of the ChatGPT and Claude plugin. Users copy an API key from their REsimpli account and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok. From there, they can ask natural language questions: "how many dead leads do I have?", "show me my under contract properties", "give me a list of users in my account." The plugin can also add leads, export data, and generate summary dashboards. It is not MCP; Sharad described it as a plugin or connector with broader capability than an MCP server. More endpoints will be added continuously after launch. The plugin ships in 2 to 3 weeks, with a training session planned for after launch (00:59:19).
Q: When is the ChatGPT and Claude plugin for REsimpli coming?
A: In 2 to 3 weeks from October 19 (approximately early November 2026). It will support ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok.
Q: Do I need technical skills to use the ChatGPT/Claude plugin?
A: No. Copy an API key from your REsimpli account, paste it into the AI tool, and ask natural language questions. No coding required.
Q: Is the REsimpli ChatGPT integration an MCP server?
A: No. Sharad described it as a plugin or connector, which he said has broader capability than an MCP server. It works with ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok.
