How to Add Email and SMS Templates in REsimpli

Written by Anthony Estrada

Overview

Templates are messages you write once and reuse whenever you need them. You can create templates for email and for text messages (SMS), and keep them organized in folders.

You would use this to save time on messages you send often, like an intro email to a buyer or a first text to a seller.

Steps

Step 1: Open your templates

  1. Click Settings in the bottom-left corner of your screen.

  2. Click Templates.

You will see your email and SMS templates.

Step 2: Create a folder (optional)

Folders help you keep your templates organized. For example, you can keep separate folders for leads, buyers, and vendors.

You can create a folder now, or skip this and add a template right away.

Step 3: Name your email template

Type a name for the template. The video uses Buyer Intro Email.

Then continue to the email settings.

Step 4: Add and verify your sending email address

Enter the email address you want to send from.

If this is the first time you are using this address in REsimpli, you must verify it. This is a one-time step.

  1. A Verify Email button will appear. Fill in the details it asks for, including your address.

  2. Click Verify Email.

  3. Open your Gmail or Outlook inbox and find the verification email.

  4. Follow the instructions in that email.

You will see a message confirming the email was verified successfully.

Step 5: Write your email

  1. Fill in the Subject. This is the line the reader sees first. The video uses an example like House for Sale.

  2. Fill in the Email Text. This is the body of your message.

Step 6: Choose plain text or rich format

You have two choices for your email text:

  • Plain Text — simple writing with no pictures or design.

  • Rich Format — use this if you want to add images, clickable links, or buttons.

If you choose rich format, you will see tools for adding:

  • Columns

  • A button

  • A heading

  • Images

Step 7: Save your email template

  1. Click Update Email.

  2. Click Save.

Your email template is now saved.

Step 8: Create a folder for your text templates (optional)

Just like with email, you can group your text templates into folders. For example, you can make one folder for sellers and another for a different situation.

  1. Click the Add button.

  2. Type a folder name. The video uses Seller Templates.

Step 9: Add a new text template

  1. Open the folder you want the template to go in. Make sure you are inside that folder first.

  2. Click Add Template.

  3. In Template Name, type a name. The video uses Intro SMS.

Step 10: Write your message

Type the text message you want to send.

Step 11: Add a dynamic field (optional)

A dynamic field fills in the person's real details automatically. For example, it can put the seller's first name into your message.

  1. Type the @ symbol where you want the detail to appear.

  2. A drop-down list will open showing the available fields.

  3. Choose the field you want, such as first name or last name.

The list includes basic contact details like first name and last name.

Step 12: Add attachments (optional)

If you want to send a file with your message, add your attachments here.

Step 13: Save your text template

Click Add SMS Template.

Your text template is now saved.

Important Notes

  • You only need to verify a sending email address once. After that, you can use it for any email template.

  • Verification is not finished until you open the email in your Gmail or Outlook inbox and follow the instructions there.

  • Choose Rich Format if your email needs images, clickable links, or buttons. Plain Text cannot include them.

  • For email templates, click Update Email first and then Save. Both are needed.

  • Before you add a text template, make sure you are inside the folder where you want it to go.

  • Type the @ symbol to bring up the list of dynamic fields.

Troubleshooting

Your sending email address is not accepted

You may not have verified it yet. Click Verify Email, then open your Gmail or Outlook inbox and follow the instructions in the verification email. You will see a message confirming it was verified successfully.

You cannot add images, links, or buttons to your email

You may be using plain text. Switch to Rich Format and the tools for columns, buttons, headings, and images will appear.

Your new text template is in the wrong folder

You may not have been inside the folder when you created it. Open the correct folder first, then click Add Template.

Summary

You created an email template and a text message template. You verified your sending email address, wrote your email in plain text or rich format, and saved it. You also created a folder for your text templates, wrote a message using a dynamic field, added any attachments, and saved it.
