Overview
You can add an email address to an existing lead so you can email the seller as well as call and text them.
It is edited in the same place as the lead's phone numbers — the contact information on the lead itself.
Steps
Step 1: Open the lead
Open the lead you want to add the email address to.
Step 2: Edit the contact information
Hover your mouse over the contact information and click the pen icon to edit.
Step 3: Find the email field
Locate the email field.
Step 4: Type the email address
Type the seller's email address.
Step 5: Click Update
Click Update at the bottom to save.
Important Notes
Email is edited in the same panel as the phone numbers. If you are already adding a number, add the email at the same time rather than making two trips.
Nothing is saved until you click Update. Typing the address is not enough.
An email address is what makes a lead reachable by email campaigns and email automation steps. A lead with no email is silently skipped by anything that sends email.
Check the address carefully before saving. A mistyped address fails quietly — there is no bounce warning on the lead.
Skip tracing can return email addresses as well as phone numbers, and this is where you put them to use.
Troubleshooting
Your changes did not save
Click Update at the bottom of the panel.
You cannot find the pen icon
Hover your mouse over the contact information on the lead. The icon appears on hover.
Your lead is not receiving email campaigns
Check the lead has an email address. Leads without one are excluded from email sends, which is a common reason a campaign reaches fewer people than expected.
You want to add a phone number as well
Use the same edit panel. Add Phone is there alongside the email field.
The email address is wrong
Open the same edit panel, correct it, and click Update.
Summary
You added an email address to a lead. You opened the lead, hovered over the contact information and clicked the pen icon, located the email field, typed the seller's email address, and clicked Update.
