How to Manually Add a Lead in REsimpli

Written by Anthony Estrada

Overview

Sometimes a lead comes to you outside your normal marketing — a phone call, a referral, a conversation. You can add it to REsimpli by hand in under a minute.

Steps

Step 1: Open the form

There are two ways, and both open the same form:

  • If you are already inside a pipeline, click Add Lead.

  • From anywhere else in the system, click the New button, then Add Lead.

Step 2: Choose the property type

Your choice changes what the form asks for next:

  • Residential — you will be asked for the property address

  • Land — you will be asked for the APN or reference ID

Step 3: Add the source

Record how the lead reached you — which marketing effort it came from, such as Instagram.

Step 4: Set the fallback communication number

This is the number used for outbound calls and texts to this lead.

  • If your marketing campaign already has a fallback number, that one is used.

  • If it does not, the number you choose here is used instead.

  • You can leave it blank.

Step 5: Choose the market

Select the market this lead belongs to, such as your primary market.

Step 6: Choose the pipeline and status

Pick which pipeline the lead should go into, and which status it should start in — for example, your main pipeline under New Leads.

Step 7: Add the contact information

Fill in:

  • First name

  • Primary phone number

  • Primary email

  • The date the lead was created

  • The associated company, if there is one — leave blank if not

Step 8: Save

Check your details, then click Add Lead at the bottom.

Important Notes

  • Both entry points open the same form, so use whichever is closer.

  • Residential and Land ask for different things. Residential needs an address; land needs an APN or reference ID.

  • The fallback communication number only applies if your marketing campaign does not already have one. The campaign's number takes precedence.

  • The pipeline and status you choose decide where the lead lands, so set them deliberately rather than accepting the default.

  • Recording the source is what lets you measure which marketing is working.

Troubleshooting

The form is asking for an APN instead of an address

  • You selected Land as the property type. Switch to Residential if you want to enter a street address.

You cannot find the Add Lead button

  • Use the New button, available anywhere in the system, then choose Add Lead.

Your new lead is in the wrong place

  • The pipeline and status are chosen on the form. Open the lead and change them, or check those fields before saving next time.

You are not sure what to put as the fallback number

  • You can leave it blank. If your marketing campaign has a fallback number, that one is used anyway.

Summary

You added a lead by hand. You opened the form from either Add Lead inside a pipeline or the New button anywhere in the system, chose the property type, and entered the address or APN. You recorded the source, fallback number, and market, chose the pipeline and status, filled in the contact details, and clicked Add Lead.
