Overview
The Triple-Line Dialer skips a contact for one of three reasons: they were dialed recently, they have hit their daily limit, or it is outside calling hours where they live.
These rules are the same for every REsimpli account. They protect your phone numbers from spam flagging, keep you inside calling laws, and stop your team from over-dialing the same seller.
Cooldown
After a contact's phone rings and the call ends, the dialer waits before dialing them again.
What happened | Wait before next dial |
Rang — no answer, busy, or connected | 30 minutes |
Voicemail dropped (manual or automatic) | 60 minutes |
Line cancelled because another contact answered first | 30 minutes |
Cooldown expires on its own. The contact moves back into the queue and can be dialed in a later cycle of the same session.
Daily limit
Each contact can be dialed a maximum of 3 times per day.
An attempt counts the moment the contact's phone rings. Whether they answered, missed it, or got a voicemail does not matter.
Event | Counts as an attempt? |
Rang, no answer or busy | Yes |
Voicemail dropped | Yes |
Connected to your agent | Yes |
Line cancelled before it rang (another contact picked up first) | No |
The limit is per contact, not per phone number. If a contact has a mobile, home, and work number, they get 3 attempts in total. The dialer rotates through their numbers across attempts and never dials two of their numbers at once.
The limit resets at midnight in the contact's local time zone. Contacts who hit the limit come back into the queue automatically the next day.
Calling hours
The dialer only rings a contact between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM in the contact's local time, based on their phone number's area code. Your own time zone does not matter.
A contact outside calling hours is skipped even if their cooldown has expired and they are under the daily limit. The check runs continuously during your session, so a contact on the West Coast becomes eligible as their morning starts, without you doing anything.
Reading your session screen
Before you start dialing, the setup screen shows how your list breaks down.
Status | Meaning |
Eligible | Ready to dial now |
In Cooldown | Dialed recently — waiting out the cooldown |
Daily Limit Reached | 3 attempts today — back tomorrow |
Outside Calling Hours | Not between 8 AM and 9 PM where they live |
Total in List | Everyone in the list |
If Eligible is 0, Start Dialing is disabled and the screen tells you when the next contact becomes available.
During a session, a live counter shows contacts dialed, contacts remaining, and contacts skipped.
Common questions
My list has 500 contacts but only 120 are eligible. Why?
The other 380 are in cooldown, at their daily limit, or outside calling hours. Check the breakdown on the setup screen. Most of them will free up during the day.
Do cancelled lines hurt my stats?
No. When another contact answers first, the cancelled lines do not count toward your call KPIs, do not affect your answer rate, and do not show as missed calls in the contact's history.
Can I raise the daily limit or extend calling hours?
No. These limits are the same for every REsimpli account.
A contact hit the limit at 8 PM. When can I dial them again?
Midnight in their time zone. They will be back in the queue when you start your next session.
