Why Am I Getting Too Many Notifications?

Usually because you hold more than one role. How to cut the noise down to what your job actually needs.

Written by Anthony Estrada

Overview

Usually because you hold more than one role.

Every role you hold adds the alerts that go with it, so someone who is both Lead Manager and Acquisition Manager receives both sets. Nothing is misconfigured — there is just more of it than you need.

The fix is to turn off the events that are not your responsibility.

What to do

  1. Click your profile picture, then Go to Profile, then Notifications.

  2. Work through the categories one at a time and turn off events that do not need your attention.

  3. For the ones you keep, set the priority that fits — Critical, Important, FYI, or Digest. Not everything needs to interrupt you.

  4. Check the campaign-specific selections. Alerts for campaigns you do not work are a common source of noise.

  5. Save, then watch for a day or two before changing more.

Full detail on every category and delivery method is in How to Set Up Your Notifications in REsimpli.

Important Notes

  • Your settings are yours alone. Changing them affects nobody else, and nobody else changing theirs affects you.

  • Holding several roles means receiving several roles' worth of alerts. Clearer division of responsibility across the team reduces this at source.

  • You can pause notifications entirely and turn them back on later, if you need quiet for a while.

  • Change one thing at a time. Turning off six categories at once and then missing something important tells you nothing about which one mattered.

Frequently asked questions

Why am I seeing alerts for records I do not actively work?

Review three things: the roles you hold, the leads assigned to you, and your campaign selections.

What is the simplest way to reduce the noise?

Keep the alerts tied to your actual responsibilities and switch off the rest.

Can my admin fix this for me?

Notification preferences are user-level, so you need to change them in your own profile.

Troubleshooting

  • Confirm you were editing your own profile, then check the campaign selections — they are easy to miss.

You are getting alerts for a whole campaign you do not work

  • Review the campaign selections inside your notification settings.

You now receive nothing at all
