Overview
If you are the only person in your account, assign yourself the roles you actually perform — Lead Manager, Acquisition Manager, and whatever else you handle.
Two reasons this is worth the five minutes:
Some dashboards and workflows only work when a role is assigned on the lead. A role-based dashboard with no roles assigned is empty.
Hiring becomes a reassignment rather than a rebuild. When someone takes over acquisitions, you assign them the role and update one automation.
You do not need extra users to represent different responsibilities. One person can hold every role.
Steps
Step 1: List the roles you currently handle
Step 2: Assign yourself those roles in REsimpli
Step 3: Build your lead assignment and workflow rules around the roles
Not around your name.
Step 4: Use role-based dashboards and filters
Step 5: When you hire, assign the new user to the role they are taking over
Step 6: Update the related assignment automation
Important Notes
One user can hold multiple roles. This is the recommended setup for solo accounts.
Think in roles even when you wear every hat. It is what makes the handoff possible later.
Dashboards depend on assignment. The Lead Manager dashboard counts leads with a Lead Manager assigned — if that is nobody, it counts nothing.
New leads default to the owner in a solo account. Assigning yourself operational roles on top structures the account for growth.
Each role you hold adds its own notifications. If the alerts become too much, trim them in your own profile rather than removing the roles — see Why Am I Getting Too Many Notifications?
Frequently asked questions
Why assign myself an operational role if I am already the owner?
Because some dashboards and workflows depend on a role being assigned to the lead, not on who owns the account.
Can one person hold several roles?
Yes — that is exactly the recommendation for solo users.
What changes when I hire someone?
Assign the new user to the role they are taking over, and update the related assignment workflow.
Troubleshooting
A role-based dashboard is empty
Confirm the role is actually assigned on the leads, not just held by you as a user.
New leads still assign to you after hiring someone
Review the New Lead Created automation. The role changed; the automation did not.
You are not sure which leads are missing a role
See How to Find Leads Missing a Lead Manager or Acquisition Manager.
You are getting more notifications than you expected
Holding several roles means receiving several roles' worth of alerts. Turn off the ones you do not need in your profile.
