Overview
Instead of assigning every new lead by hand, you can have REsimpli assign it the moment it is created — to the right person, in the right role, based on the campaign it came from.
Steps
Step 1: Open the automation
From the left menu, go to Automations → Leads → New Lead Created, then click Add Automation.
Give it a name that says what it covers — "Direct Mail Lead", for example.
Step 2: Choose which campaigns it applies to
Select the marketing campaigns this assignment rule covers. You can select several at once — in the video, four direct mail campaigns are selected together.
Click Save.
Step 3: Choose day-based or delay-based timing
Both are available:
Delay-based — how it worked in the previous version
Day-based — schedules against a clock: day 1 at 9:00 AM do this, day 1 at 9:05 AM do that, and so on
Step 4: Choose the pipeline and status
Set which pipeline the lead is created in and which status it lands on. The video uses Active Leads and New Leads, but any pipeline and any status can be selected.
Step 5: Choose how team members are assigned
Five options:
Round Robin — rotates through the people in a role. First lead to Lead Manager A, second to Lead Manager B.
Weighted Round Robin — rotates unevenly. For example the first three leads to Lead Manager A, the fourth to Lead Manager B, then the next three back to A. This one is new in 6.0.
First to Claim — everyone you select gets a notification. Whoever opens it and claims the lead gets the assignment.
Manual Assignment — you assign it yourself.
All Selected Team Members — assigns the lead to several people in the same role at once, both Lead Managers for example.
Step 6: Decide which roles get assigned at creation
You do not have to assign every role the moment a lead arrives. You can assign only the roles that make sense at that stage, and add the others later with separate automations.
The pattern from the video:
Lead created → assign Lead Manager only
Appointment Set → a separate automation assigns the Acquisition Manager
Under Contract → a further automation assigns the Dispo Manager
Important Notes
Campaign selection drives the rule. One automation can cover several campaigns, so you do not need a separate rule per campaign when the routing is the same.
Round Robin and Weighted Round Robin only do anything when a role has more than one person in it. With a single Lead Manager, every lead goes to that person regardless of which option you pick.
The assignment options only render differently when multiple people exist in the role. If the screen looks sparse, that is usually why.
"All Selected Team Members" is how you put two people in the same role on one lead — two Lead Managers, two Acquisition Managers, and so on. It works for any role.
Staging roles across the pipeline keeps dashboards clean. The Lead Manager dashboard only counts leads with a Lead Manager assigned, and the Acquisition Manager dashboard only counts leads with an Acquisition Manager — so assigning a role before that person is genuinely involved distorts the numbers.
Troubleshooting
Every lead is going to the same person despite Round Robin
Only one person holds that role. Round Robin needs at least two to rotate between.
You do not see the assignment options described here
They expand once there are multiple team members in the selected role.
Nobody picked up a First to Claim lead
Everyone selected receives a notification, but nothing assigns until someone claims it. If leads are sitting unclaimed, Round Robin is the safer choice.
The lead landed in the wrong pipeline
Check Step 4. The pipeline and status are set inside the automation, not inherited from the campaign.
An Acquisition Manager was assigned too early
Remove that role from the New Lead Created automation and assign it from a separate automation triggered at Appointment Set.
Summary
Go to Automations → Leads → New Lead Created → Add Automation, choose the campaigns it covers, pick day-based or delay-based timing, set the pipeline and status, then choose how team members are assigned — Round Robin, Weighted Round Robin, First to Claim, Manual Assignment, or All Selected Team Members. Assign only the roles that belong at lead creation, and add later roles with separate automations at Appointment Set and Under Contract.
