Overview
Skip tracing looks up missing contact details for a property, such as phone numbers and email addresses, so you have a way to reach the owner.
You can skip trace one property at a time, or a whole group at once. Both are done from List Stacking.
Steps
Part 1: Skip Trace One Property
Step 1: Open the property
In List Stacking, click the property address you want to skip trace.
Step 2: Start the skip trace
Either:
Click Actions, then Skip Trace, or
Click the Skip Trace button directly
Step 3: Confirm
A prompt will ask you to confirm before it runs. REsimpli will add any missing details it finds.
Confirm to continue.
Step 4: Check the results
Any phone numbers and email addresses found will appear on the left side of the property.
Step 5: Check the history for that property
To see the skip traces already done for that record, click All or open the activity log.
Part 2: Skip Trace in Bulk
Step 6: Narrow down your records
Create a filter for the group you want. The video filters for leads in the state of California.
Click Continue, then apply the filter. You do not have to save it if you only need it once.
Step 7: Select your properties
Click Select All to choose every property address in your filter.
The Actions drop-down will appear.
Step 8: Start the bulk skip trace
Click Actions.
Click Skip Trace.
Step 9: Name your skip trace
REsimpli will ask you to name it. Pick something you will recognize later, such as CA Leads Skip Trace.
Part 3: Check Your Results
Step 10: Open the Skip Tracing tab
Go to the Skip Tracing tab to see every skip trace request on your account.
For each one you will see:
The skip tracing name
The status
How many records you submitted
How many were matched
How many were unmatched
Step 11: Export your results
Click to export, and REsimpli will download the file to your computer as a CSV.
Important Notes
Skip tracing is done from List Stacking.
Name your bulk skip traces clearly. The name is how you find them again in the Skip Tracing tab.
Not every record will come back with details. The Skip Tracing tab shows matched and unmatched counts so you know how well a batch performed.
Filtering before a bulk skip trace lets you target a specific area, such as one state.
You do not need to save a filter to use it for a bulk skip trace. Applying it without saving works.
Results for a single property appear on the left side of that property, and the history is in the activity log.
Troubleshooting
The Actions drop-down is not showing
It appears once you have selected your property addresses. Use Select All after applying your filter.
No contact details were found
Not every property can be matched. Check the matched and unmatched numbers in the Skip Tracing tab to see how many came back.
You cannot find a skip trace you ran
Look in the Skip Tracing tab. Requests are listed by the name you gave them.
You want the results outside REsimpli
Export from the Skip Tracing tab. The file downloads as a CSV.
You are not sure whether a property was already skip traced
Open the property and check the activity log. Past skip traces are recorded there.
Summary
You skip traced your records two ways. For a single property, you opened it in List Stacking, clicked Skip Trace, and confirmed, then checked the details found on the left of the property. For a group, you filtered your records, used Select All and Actions, chose Skip Trace, and named the batch. You then reviewed the matched and unmatched counts in the Skip Tracing tab and exported the results as a CSV.
