How to Register for A2P 10DLC in REsimpli

Written by Anthony Estrada

Overview

A2P 10DLC registration is what the phone carriers require before you can send text messages from your REsimpli account. Until your registration is approved, your outbound SMS will not go out.

This guide takes you through the whole process, from getting your website ready to having your phone numbers linked to an approved campaign.

Before You Start

Get your website compliant first. Most rejections come from website problems, not the registration form. Working through the website requirements before you register saves you weeks of back-and-forth.

You will also need:

  • Your business officially registered, if you are registering as a business

  • A valid EIN issued by the IRS, if applicable

  • Your website live and reachable before your registration can be submitted

Steps

Step 1: Prepare a Compliant Website

You need a website that meets the carrier requirements. You have two options.

Option 1 — Use your existing website. Update it so it meets all the compliance requirements in Step 3.

Option 2 — Build one with REsimpli. If you do not have a suitable website, create one using the REsimpli Website Builder:

If you build a REsimpli website, connect your custom domain before you register.

Step 2: Connect Your Custom Domain

This step is only for REsimpli websites. Skip it if you are using your own existing site.

Update your DNS records as follows:

Type

Host

Value

A

@

54.188.250.92

A

www

54.188.250.92

Then:

  1. Wait for DNS propagation.

  2. Confirm your website is live before continuing.

Step 3: Meet the Website Compliance Requirements

Check your website has all of the following before you go any further:

  • SMS opt-in language telling users they agree to receive SMS and/or call communications

  • A consent checkbox

  • A clear description of the messages users will receive, such as updates, notifications, or promotional messages

  • Your company name, exactly as registered for 10DLC, included in the opt-in language

  • A standalone Privacy Policy page

  • A standalone Terms & Conditions page

  • Clickable links to your Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions inside the opt-in language

Two rules that are easy to get wrong:

  • The consent checkbox must be optional. Users have to be able to submit the form without ticking it.

  • Every contact form that collects a phone number must include the SMS opt-in language. Not just your main one.

Your website must be live and accessible before your registration can be submitted.

Step 4: Complete the Registration Form

Go to the A2P 10DLC page in your REsimpli CRM and fill in the form.

Step 6: Website and Registration Review

Your website and registration details are reviewed to confirm:

  • The website is live

  • All website compliance requirements are met

  • Your business information matches your documentation

  • The registration form is filled in accurately

If anything needs fixing, you will be told so you can correct it before submission.

Step 7: Carrier Review

Once everything checks out, your Brand and Campaign registrations are submitted to the carriers.

Typical review time is around 2 to 4 weeks. Processing times vary.

Step 8: Your Registration Outcome

If approved

  • Your Brand and Campaign become active

  • Your existing phone numbers are linked to your approved campaign automatically

  • Newly ported numbers are linked once they have been configured

If rejected

The most common reasons are:

  • Business information does not match your documentation

  • EIN verification problems

  • Website compliance problems

  • Missing Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions

  • Missing or incorrect SMS opt-in language

Once you have made the corrections, your registration can be resubmitted.

Step 9: Phone Number Activation

Existing numbers

These are usually linked to your approved campaign within a few days of approval.

Ported numbers

If you are moving numbers into REsimpli:

  1. Submit the port request. This usually takes 2 to 4 weeks.

  2. Once your current provider releases the numbers, allow 24 to 48 hours for configuration.

  3. Wait for the carriers to link the numbers to your approved campaign.

Outbound SMS becomes available once the carriers have finished linking your numbers.

Registration Checklist

Run through this before submitting.

  • Company name is included in the opt-in language

  • Privacy Policy page is available

  • Terms & Conditions page is available

  • Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions links are clickable

  • Consent checkbox is optional, not required

  • All contact forms collecting a phone number include the SMS opt-in language

  • If using a REsimpli website, the custom domain is connected and DNS has propagated

  • Business Address

  • Contact Information

  • Campaign Description

  • Sample Message #1

  • Sample Message #2

  • Registration form submitted through the A2P 10DLC page in the REsimpli CRM

Important Notes

  • Get your website right before you register. This order exists to reduce carrier rejections and avoid delays.

  • Your website must be live before your registration can be submitted.

  • The consent checkbox must not be mandatory. A form that cannot be submitted without ticking it will fail compliance.

  • Every form that collects a phone number needs the opt-in language, not only your main contact form.

  • Your company name in the opt-in language must match the name you register for 10DLC exactly.

  • Carrier review takes around 2 to 4 weeks, and is outside REsimpli's control.

  • Porting numbers adds time. The port itself takes 2 to 4 weeks before configuration even begins.

  • You cannot send outbound SMS until the carriers finish linking your numbers to an approved campaign.

Troubleshooting

Your registration was rejected

  • Check the common causes: business information not matching your documents, EIN verification problems, website compliance gaps, a missing Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions, or missing or incorrect opt-in language. Correct the issue and resubmit.

Your registration cannot be submitted

  • Your website may not be live yet. It has to be reachable before submission.

Your website was flagged for compliance

  • Work through the Step 3 list item by item. The three most commonly missed are a required consent checkbox that should be optional, forms that collect a phone number without opt-in language, and Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions links that are not clickable.

Your EIN could not be verified

  • Check that the EIN and business name you entered match your IRS documentation exactly.

You are approved but still cannot send texts

  • Your numbers may not be linked yet. Existing numbers usually link within a few days. Ported numbers need the port to complete, then 24 to 48 hours of configuration, then carrier linking.

Your ported numbers are taking a long time

  • Porting typically takes 2 to 4 weeks on its own, before the 24 to 48 hour configuration window and carrier linking.

Summary

You registered for A2P 10DLC. You made sure your website was live and compliant, connecting a custom domain if you built it with REsimpli. You completed the registration form in your CRM with your business, website, address, and campaign details, and paid the registration fees. Your details were reviewed and submitted to the carriers, and once approved, your phone numbers were linked to your campaign so you could start sending texts.
