Overview
Global search finds leads, contacts, and notes from anywhere in REsimpli. Type what you are looking for, narrow by type, and open the record.
The search bar is available on every page, so you never have to navigate to the right section first.
Steps
Step 1: Open the search bar
Click the search bar at the top of your screen. It is available anywhere in the CRM.
Step 2: Type what you are looking for
Enter a name, or a word you expect to find in a note.
REsimpli returns everything matching, across your records.
Step 3: Narrow by type
Use the filters to limit the results:
Filter | What it finds |
Leads | Seller leads, by name or property address. |
Contacts | Buyers, agents, and vendors. Each result shows what type of contact it is. |
Notes | Notes containing the word you searched. This filter is the last one in the list. |
Step 4: Open the record
Click the name, or for a lead, the property address.
The record opens in a new tab, so whatever you were working on stays open behind it.
Searching Notes
Notes search is worth knowing about, because it finds things no other search will.
Type the word you are looking for — for example renovation.
Click Notes, the last filter in the list.
You will see the records whose notes contain that word.
Click a result to open the lead or property in a new tab.
This is how you find a property when you remember something that was written about it, but not whose it was.
Important Notes
The search bar works from every page. You do not need to be in the right section to find something.
Notes are searchable by their content, which makes them findable later — a good reason to write useful notes.
Results show the contact type, which matters when the same name exists as both a seller and a buyer.
The Notes filter is the last one, so it is easy to miss.
Records open in a new tab, so your current work is not lost.
Searching a first name returns everyone matching. Add a surname to narrow it.
Troubleshooting
Too many results
Add the surname, or use a filter to limit the type of record.
You found a person but it is the wrong record
Check the contact type shown against each result. The same person may exist as more than one type.
You remember something written about a property but not whose it was
Search the word and use the Notes filter.
No results
Check the spelling. Search matches against the names on your records, and against the text inside notes.
You lost the page you were on
You have not — records open in a new tab.
Summary
You used global search. You clicked the search bar at the top, typed a name or a word from a note, and used the Contacts or Notes filters to narrow the results. Each contact result showed its type, and clicking a result opened the record in a new tab.
