How do I check who is assigned to a lead?

Written by Anthony Estrada

Overview

The Team tab on a lead shows the roles on that lead and who is filling each one.

This is where you find out who is responsible for a property — and, just as usefully, which roles nobody is filling.

Steps

Step 1: Open the lead

Click the property address of the lead you want to check.

Step 2: Go to the Team tab

Click the Team tab.

Step 3: Read the roles and assignees

You will see the roles on the lead and the assignee filling each one.

Important Notes

  • Assignment is by role. A lead can have several people on it in different jobs — one as Acquisition Manager, another as Dispo Manager.

  • An empty role is the thing to look for. If an automation creates tasks for a role nobody is filling on that lead, those tasks are created with no assignee and nobody sees them.

  • Check this before chasing a lead that has gone quiet. A property with no assignee is not being worked by anyone, however good it looks.

  • The Team tab reads; it does not tell you why. If the wrong person is assigned, change it on the lead or use bulk assignment for a group of leads.

  • Being assigned and having permission to see the lead are different things. Someone can be assigned a lead they cannot open.

Troubleshooting

No assignee is shown against a role

  • Nobody is filling that role on this lead. Assign someone, especially if automations create tasks for that role.

Tasks from an automation have no owner

  • Check the Team tab. The role the automation assigns to is empty on this lead.

The wrong person is assigned

  • Reassign on the lead, or use bulk assignment to fix a whole group at once.

You cannot find the Team tab

  • Open the lead by clicking its property address. Tab order can be rearranged, so it may not be where you expect.

A lead has been ignored for weeks

  • Check whether anyone is assigned to it at all.

Your assignee cannot see the lead

  • Check their permissions as well as the assignment. The two are configured separately.

Summary

You checked who is assigned to a lead. You clicked the property address to open the lead and went to the Team tab, where the roles on the lead are listed alongside the assignee filling each one.
