How to Reactivate Leads From a Previous Drip Campaign in REsimpli

Get the leads that were on your old drip campaigns back into an automation after the 6.0 upgrade — including the variable fields you must re-set first.

Overview

Your drip campaigns carried over to 6.0, but they arrived switched off. This is how you get the leads that were on them back into an automation.

There are two parts, and the order matters. Fix the automation first, then add the leads to it. If you enrol leads before you have re-set the variable fields, your messages go out with the wrong merge fields.

Steps

Step 1: Find your carried-over campaigns

Go to Automations, then Lead Manual Assignment. Every drip campaign that carried over from the previous version is now there.

Step 2: Re-set the variable fields — do not skip this

Every variable field in a carried-over campaign has to be set up again, even when it looks unchanged.

The names may be identical to what you had before, but the update changed them underneath. Variable fields are now defined per contact type, so a field that used to be generic now needs to point at the right contact.

Go through each message in the automation and re-select every variable:

  • Property Street Address — re-select it

  • First Name — change it to Seller First Name

  • Any other variable in the message — re-select it

Step 3: Check the variables resolve

A correctly mapped variable shows up in the deal. If it displays there, it is connected properly. If it does not, the mapping is wrong — go back to Step 2.

Step 4: Set a fallback number

In 6.0 automation messages can go out from different phone numbers, which means a step can send from a marketing tracking number.

A marketing tracking number is not a required field on a campaign, so you can have marketing campaigns with no number attached. If a drip sends against one of those, there is nothing for the message to send from.

Assign a fallback number so those messages still have a number to send from. You can:

  • Set a different fallback number on each step — step one and step five do not have to match

  • Use a different number entirely

  • Set automations up per person, so each team member's messages go out from their own number

Step 5: Save the automation

Save before you go looking for leads.

Step 6: Filter for the leads that were on the drip

Go to All Leads, click Add Filter, and search for drip.

You will see Legacy Drip Campaigns. Select the specific campaign you want, and REsimpli returns the leads that were on it. In the video this returns 60 leads.

Step 7: Add them to the automation

Select the leads, click Add to Automation, choose the automation you prepared — "Offer Made" in the example — and confirm.

Important Notes

  • The variable fields are the thing people will miss. The campaign looks correct on screen. Nothing warns you. The first sign of trouble is a text that went out with a broken merge field, and by then it has already sent.

  • First Name is now Seller First Name on a seller lead. This is the specific rename called out in the video, and it is the one most likely to appear in an opening line.

  • There is a limit of 100 contacts per day that can be added to an automation. This is deliberate, to spread enrolment out rather than sending everything at once.

  • The 100/day cap is temporary. It is expected to rise to 250 or 500 once the system has stabilised and feedback has been worked through.

  • If you urgently need more than 100 in a day, contact support — they can accommodate it.

  • A fallback number is only needed where no campaign number is attached. If your marketing campaign already has a tracking number, that is what sends.

Troubleshooting

Your messages sent with a blank or wrong name

  • The variable field was not re-set after migration. Open the automation, re-select every variable, and check it displays in the deal before sending anything else.

A variable does not show up in the deal

  • It is not connected. Re-select it rather than assuming the existing setting carried over.

Your automation has no number to send from

  • The marketing campaign attached has no tracking number. Set a fallback number on the step.

You selected more than 100 leads and not all were added

  • 100 per day is the cap. Add the rest tomorrow, or contact support if it is urgent.

You cannot find which leads were on a campaign

  • Use Add Filter on All Leads and search drip. The filter is called Legacy Drip Campaigns.

Summary

Open Automations → Lead Manual Assignment, re-set every variable field in the carried-over campaign (including changing First Name to Seller First Name), confirm the variables show in the deal, assign a fallback number for steps with no campaign number, and save. Then filter All Leads by Legacy Drip Campaigns, select the leads, and Add to Automation — up to 100 per day.
