Overview
When you're working through hundreds of leads, the little things add up. Creating the same follow-up tasks, losing your place in a lead list, or rebuilding an automation just to change one step. None sounds like a major problem until you're dealing with it every day.
That's much of what Sharad Mehta covered in the October 19 REsimpli Office Hours.
Two improvements are already live: inline task editing and pagination memory. Sharad also previewed three upcoming automation controls and demonstrated an integration that will let investors work with their REsimpli data through ChatGPT and Claude.
Beyond the software, the session covered a familiar question for wholesalers: Is there money to be made wholesaling MLS-listed properties, or should you focus on finding deals before they hit the market?

00:02:03 — REsimpli Trial Limits: What Happens When You Run Out?
A REsimpli trial lets you explore the system before committing to a paid plan. But what if you run out of messages before you've finished testing?
Sharad explained that trial accounts have limits of 100 SMS messages, calls, and emails. They're intended for testing features rather than running full-scale marketing campaigns.
Need more time? Contact REsimpli support to request additional credits or a trial extension. These requests are handled individually.
00:04:55 — Don't Want a Preloaded SMS Template? Here's How to Change It
Say you're following up with a motivated seller. You open the SMS tab, but there's already a message sitting in the text field.
Useful if you're sending your usual follow-up. Less useful if you want to write something personal.
Sharad explained that the preloaded template is meant to save time. But you can change it in two ways:
Clear the message and write your own.
Set a blank default template so the field opens without a prepared message.
Defaults can be configured per user, letting your acquisitions team keep ready-to-send templates while others start with a blank field.
00:10:26 — Three Automation Controls Coming Soon
Automations keep leads moving, but sometimes you need more control. Maybe a seller has already received the first few messages, or you want to skip an upcoming action without stopping everything else.
Sharad shared Figma previews of three improvements designed for exactly these situations.
1. Defer Start
Delay an automation's first action instead of launching it as soon as the trigger fires.
2. Choose Which Step
Restart an automation at a selected step, such as step four, without repeating everything that came before it.
3. Skip a Step
Skip one scheduled action while allowing the remaining sequence to continue. You'll also be able to add the skipped step back.
Availability: Sharad estimated that all three controls would arrive within two to three weeks of October 19. They were still in development during the session.
00:13:47 — Stop Creating the Same Follow-Up Tasks Manually
How often does your acquisitions team create essentially the same task?
Call the seller next week. Follow up in two weeks. Check back in a month.
One lead manager was spending around 20 seconds creating each task. At 50 tasks a day, that's nearly 17 minutes spent entering information you already know.
Fortunately, REsimpli's Task Templates can handle much of that work.
Create reusable templates for common callbacks, complete with the task name, assignee, due date, description, and checklist.
Here's how:
Go to Settings → Template → Task Template.
Create templates for your usual follow-up intervals.
Open a lead, select Add Task, and choose the appropriate template.
Everything fills in automatically, although you can still make changes before saving.
It's not just about saving clicks. Standardized tasks help your team follow a consistent process without overlooking important details.
00:17:03 — Two Small Updates That Save You Extra Clicks
Not every useful product update needs to be a major new feature. Two improvements released on October 19 address everyday frustrations.
Edit Tasks Directly from Lead Details
Previously, editing a task meant opening the Tasks tab and finding the right record. Now you can click the task directly from the lead detail view and edit it there.
Pick Up Where You Left Off
Imagine working through page eight of your dead leads. You open a record, review it, and head back, only to find yourself on page one again.
REsimpli now remembers your page, so you can continue where you left off. Both improvements are already live.
00:18:13 — Is Wholesaling MLS-Listed Properties Worth the Trouble?
An investor was considering wholesaling two turnkey properties listed on the MLS and needed a proof of funds letter.
Sharad clarified that REsimpli doesn't issue these letters and suggested contacting a third-party lender. But he also questioned the strategy.
Here's the problem: When a property is already listed, every investor can see the asking price. So why would a cash buyer pay you a wholesale fee for something they could find themselves?
There may still be room for a deal if you negotiate a meaningful discount. But simply marking up an already-listed property doesn't offer much value.
Find Deals Before They Hit the Market
Sharad recommended building relationships with local real estate agents instead.
Agents often hear about properties before they're listed. A homeowner might be considering selling, or a property may need more repairs than the owner wants to handle.
Build a list of agents in your target market, organize their contact information in your REsimpli CRM, and stay in touch through calls, texts, and follow-up tasks.
The idea isn't to bombard agents with messages. It's to become a reliable buyer they think of when an opportunity comes along.
Because sometimes the best deal is the one you hear about before everyone else does.
00:29:00 — Hot Leads and Daily Updates: Two Things to Know
Two quick lead management questions came up.
What does the hot lead icon do?
The icon in REsimpli's grid view lets you mark a lead as hot. Click it once to flag the lead, and again to remove the designation.
Will Daily Update numbers become clickable?
Sharad agreed to make the urgency indicators clickable, allowing investors to open the corresponding property records directly from categories such as recently sold or back on market.
The hot lead toggle is already available. Clickable urgency indicators were discussed as a future improvement.
00:51:10 — Build Automations Once Instead of Rebuilding Them
Suppose you've built a follow-up sequence with messages, delays, and assignments. Then you realize you need an if-else condition halfway through.
Can you insert it without rebuilding everything?
Not currently. Sharad explained that REsimpli doesn't yet support adding if-else branches between existing steps.
His recommendation? Separate your triggers from your follow-up sequences.
Instead of building an entire campaign inside each trigger, put the follow-up sequence in a Manual Assignment Automation. Then connect different triggers to it using Move to Other Automation.
For example, the same 30-day follow-up sequence could serve new leads, status changes, and other qualifying activities.
Build it once, reuse it wherever appropriate, and maintain one sequence rather than several copies.
Sharad confirmed that inserting if-else conditions between existing steps is planned for a future update.
He also mentioned that some investors have been using the Claude browser extension to create automations, with reports of building extensive setups in 15–20 minutes.
00:54:13 — Soon You'll Be Able to Talk to Your REsimpli Data Through ChatGPT and Claude
Want to know how many dead leads are sitting in your database?
Normally, you'd open your CRM, apply filters, and review the results. But what if you could simply ask ChatGPT?
That's the idea behind an upcoming REsimpli integration Sharad demonstrated during the session.
The prototype allows investors to interact with account data through everyday questions, such as:
"How many dead leads do I have?"
"Show me my properties under contract."
"Give me a list of users in my account."
The planned integration can also add leads, export data, and generate summary dashboards.
How Will It Work?
The proposed setup is straightforward: copy an API key from your REsimpli account, connect it to a supported assistant, and start making requests. No coding is expected for the basic workflow.
Sharad described the integration as a plugin or connector, with initial support planned for ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok. More capabilities will be added as additional API endpoints become available.
Availability: Sharad estimated a release within two to three weeks of October 19, followed by a dedicated training session.
01:00:10 — Upcoming Training Sessions
Sharad closed with a preview of upcoming webinars: another training session on October 20 and an AI-focused webinar on October 22.
Watch for further announcements about the new automation controls and ChatGPT integration, including training on how to use them once released.
Points to Remember
Two updates are live: Edit tasks directly from lead details, and return to the same page when navigating back from a lead.
Use Task Templates: Set up common callbacks for one week, two weeks, one month, and three months instead of creating them manually.
Build reusable automations: Keep follow-up sequences in Manual Assignment Automations and connect them to triggers using Move to Other Automation.
Three automation controls are coming: Defer Start, Choose Which Step, and Skip a Step were previewed for release within two to three weeks of October 19.
Focus on off-market opportunities: Build relationships with agents who may know about properties before they're listed.
ChatGPT and Claude integration is on the way: The upcoming connector will support natural-language questions, lead creation, exports, and account summaries.
Try Claude for automation setup: Some users reported creating extensive automations in 15–20 minutes using its browser extension. Review workflows carefully before activating them.
Keep an eye on release announcements: Upcoming features shown during Office Hours aren't available until officially released.
