How to Upload eSign Templates in REsimpli

Written by Anthony Estrada

Overview

An eSign template is an agreement you upload once and reuse whenever you need it signed. You mark where people need to sign and what details they need to fill in.

You would use this for contracts and agreements you send out often, so you do not have to set them up again each time.

Steps

Step 1: Get your file ready

Your agreement must be a PDF file.

REsimpli will not let you upload any other file type.

Step 2: Open your eSign documents

  1. Click Settings in the bottom-left corner of your screen.

  2. Click eSign Documents.

Step 3: Upload your template

  1. Click Add eSign Template on the right side of your screen.

  2. Choose your PDF file.

Wait a moment for it to load.

Step 4: Add your fields

Now you mark the parts of the document that people need to complete. The tools are on the left side of your screen.

You can add three kinds of fields:

  • Signature fields — where someone signs.

  • Data entry fields — where someone types something in.

  • Personalized fields — these fill themselves in using details already saved on the lead, such as the property address, the primary lead email, or the lead name.

Step 5: Add your recipients

On the right side of your screen, add the people who need to sign. These are called parties.

Make sure every field is assigned to the correct person. A field assigned to the wrong party will be sent to the wrong person to complete.

Step 6: Save your template

Click Save and Close.

Your eSign template is now ready to use.

Important Notes

  • Your file must be a PDF. No other file type will upload.

  • The agreement is sent out in order, one party at a time. Party 1 receives it first. Party 2 only receives it after Party 1 has finished signing.

  • Because it goes in order, the order you list your parties in matters. Put them in the order you want them to sign.

  • Check that each field is assigned to the right party before you save.

  • Personalized fields pull details straight from the lead, so you do not have to type them in yourself.

Troubleshooting

Your file will not upload

  • Your file may not be a PDF. Save your agreement as a PDF and try again.

The second party has not received the agreement

  • They will not receive it until the first party finishes signing. The agreement goes out in order, one person at a time.

The wrong person was asked to sign something

  • A field may be assigned to the wrong party. Open your template and check that every field is assigned to the correct person.

A personalized field is blank

  • The information may be missing from the lead. Personalized fields pull from details saved on the lead, such as the property address or lead name.

Summary

You uploaded an eSign template to REsimpli. You saved your agreement as a PDF, opened eSign Documents in Settings, and uploaded it with Add eSign Template. You then added your signature, data entry, and personalized fields, assigned each one to the right party, and clicked Save and Close.
