How to Send an eSign Agreement in REsimpli

Written by Anthony Estrada

Overview

Once you have an eSign template saved, you can send it to a lead to be signed. REsimpli emails the agreement to each person in turn and collects their signatures for you.

You would use this whenever you need a contract or agreement signed by a buyer, a seller, or both.

Steps

Step 1: Make sure your template is ready

You need an eSign template already uploaded, with its fields mapped.

If you have not set one up yet, do that first.

Step 2: Open the lead

Go to the lead you want to send the agreement to.

Step 3: Start the agreement

  1. Click Actions.

  2. Click Send for eSign.

Step 4: Choose your template

Select the eSign template you want to send.

Step 5: Assign your parties

Choose who each party is. In the video there are two:

  • Party 1 — the buyer

  • Party 2 — the seller

Party 1 receives the agreement first and signs it. Party 2 only receives it once Party 1 has finished.

Step 6: Check your agreement

A window will open showing the agreement.

  • If you already added your fields when you uploaded the template, look them over. Check that they are in the right places and that REsimpli filled in the details correctly.

  • If you did not add fields earlier, you can add them here.

  • Personalized fields will already be filled in with details from the lead.

  • Near the bottom you will find where you sign and add the date.

Before you go further, check that every field is assigned to the correct party.

Step 7: Send the agreement

Click the Send button on the right side of your screen.

Step 8: Write your email

Another window will open with the email that goes out with your agreement.

  • Leave the subject as it is, or change it.

  • Add a message or a reminder for the person receiving it, if you want.

Step 9: Finish

Click Send.

Your agreement is on its way.

Important Notes

  • You need an eSign template before you can send anything.

  • The agreement goes out in order. Party 2 will not receive it until Party 1 has signed.

  • Check that every field is assigned to the correct party before you send. A field assigned to the wrong person will go to the wrong person.

  • You can still add fields at this stage if you did not add them when you uploaded the template.

  • Personalized fields fill in automatically from the lead, but it is worth checking they are correct.

Troubleshooting

Party 2 has not received the agreement

  • They will not receive it until Party 1 finishes signing. The agreement goes to one person at a time, in order.

A field is missing from the agreement

  • You can add fields in the window that opens before you send. Add what is missing there.

A personalized field is blank or wrong

  • That detail may be missing or incorrect on the lead itself. Check the lead's information.

The wrong person was asked to sign something

  • A field is assigned to the wrong party. Check your field assignments before sending.

You want to explain something to the person signing

  • Add a message in the email window before you click Send. You can also change the subject line there.

Summary

You sent an eSign agreement. You opened the lead, chose Actions and Send for eSign, and picked your template. You assigned your parties, checked that the fields were correct and assigned to the right people, and clicked Send. You then wrote the email that went with it and sent the agreement on its way.
