How to Bulk Import Leads into the Active Leads Pipeline in REsimpli

Written by Anthony Estrada

Overview

Bulk importing lets you bring a whole list of leads into REsimpli at once, instead of adding them one by one. You choose which pipeline and status they land in, and match the columns in your file to the right fields.

You would use this when you buy or build a lead list and want to start working it straight away.

Steps

Step 1: Get your file ready

Before you import:

  • Save your file as a CSV file.

  • Check the recommended format first. Following it prevents most import problems.

Step 2: Start the import

  1. Go to your Active Leads pipeline.

  2. Click Add Lead.

  3. Click Bulk Import Leads.

Step 3: Match your columns

You will see two sides on this screen. One side lists the REsimpli fields, the other lists the columns from your file.

Match each column in your file to the right REsimpli field.

  • Fields marked with a red asterisk are required. The import will not go ahead until these are matched.

  • If you do not want to bring a column across, just leave it unmapped.

Step 4: Map your property details

Match your property columns, including:

  • Property street address

  • Property city

  • Property state

  • Property zip

  • Property type — residential or land

Step 5: Choose the status

Select which status your leads should be imported into, such as New Leads.

Step 6: Map your contact details

Match the contact information in your file:

  • First name or name

  • Mailing address, if you have it

  • Primary contact number

  • Email addresses — you can map more than one

Leave anything blank if your file does not have it.

Step 7: Fill in your lead data

Under Lead Data, set:

  • The marketing campaign this list belongs to

  • The market

  • Any tags you want to add

Step 8: Map your custom questions

Any custom questions set up on your account appear here. If your file has the answers, you can bring them in.

For this to work, your file needs the question itself as the column heading. For example, if your custom question is How soon are you looking to sell the property?, that exact question should be the column heading, with the answers in that column.

Once mapped, REsimpli fills those answers in on each lead profile automatically.

You can also add more custom questions here if you need more than your account currently has.

Step 9: Continue

Click Continue.

Step 10: Check the preview

You will see a preview of what is about to be imported, including:

  • The property and state

  • The pipeline and status the leads will go into

  • The marketing campaign

  • The primary contact number

  • All the other information you mapped

You can also add tags at this stage.

Step 11: Import

Click Start Importing.

Your properties will then appear in your account.

Important Notes

  • Your file must be a CSV. Check the recommended format before you start.

  • Fields with a red asterisk must be mapped. The import cannot proceed without them.

  • You do not have to map every column. Leave out anything you do not need.

  • For custom question answers to import, the column heading in your file must be the question itself, word for word.

  • The status you choose decides where every lead in the list lands, so pick it deliberately.

  • Use the preview to check your work before importing, rather than fixing records afterwards.

Troubleshooting

Your file will not import

  • It may not be a CSV, or it may not follow the recommended format. Save it as a CSV and compare it against the recommended format.

You cannot move past the mapping screen

  • A required field is unmapped. Look for the red asterisks and match those fields.

Your custom question answers did not come through

  • The column heading in your file probably does not match the question. It needs to be the question itself, exactly as it appears in your account.

Your leads went into the wrong status

  • The status is chosen during mapping and applies to the whole list. Check it in the preview before importing next time.

Some information is missing from your leads

  • Those columns may have been left unmapped. Only the fields you match are brought across.

Summary

You bulk imported a list of leads. You saved your file as a CSV in the recommended format, then used Add Lead and Bulk Import Leads in your Active Leads pipeline. You matched your property and contact columns, chose a status, set the marketing campaign, market, and tags, and mapped your custom question answers. After checking the preview, you clicked Start Importing.
