Overview
The SMS Conversation Specialist replies to incoming text messages for you, straight away, without you having to be at your desk.
You can switch it on for one lead at a time, or have it turn on automatically whenever a drip campaign runs.
Before You Start
Once the conversational AI replies to a seller, all active automations on that lead stop. This is deliberate, and prevents the seller receiving duplicate messages from both the AI and your automations at once.
Keep this in mind before turning it on for a lead that is partway through a sequence.
Steps
Option 1: Turn It On for a Single Lead
Step 1: Open the lead
Open the lead you want the AI to handle.
Step 2: Enable the AI
Click the Actions drop-down.
Click Enable Conversational AI.
Step 3: Confirm
You will see a message explaining that active automations on this lead will stop once the AI replies.
Confirm to continue.
Step 4: Check it is on
Look for the conversational AI icon on the lead.
Hover your mouse over it to see the date and time the AI was activated.
Option 2: Turn It On Inside an Automation
Step 5: Open your automation
Open the automation you want the AI to work with, such as one that runs for newly created leads.
Step 6: Open the conversational AI settings
Click the Settings button on the left side.
Click Conversational AI.
Step 7: Enable it
Conversational AI is disabled by default.
Select Enable to turn it on.
Step 8: Save
Click Save Conversational AI Preference.
The AI will now respond to inbound texts for leads running through that automation.
Important Notes
The AI responds to inbound text messages, so it is there to handle replies rather than start conversations.
Active automations on a lead stop once the AI responds. This avoids the seller getting two messages about the same thing.
Conversational AI is off by default inside automations. It has to be enabled and saved.
The icon on a lead tells you whether the AI is active, and hovering over it shows when it was switched on.
Turning it on for a single lead affects only that lead. Turning it on in an automation applies to leads running through that automation.
Troubleshooting
Your automations stopped running on a lead
That is expected once the conversational AI replies to the seller. It prevents duplicate messages.
You are not sure whether the AI is active on a lead
Look for the conversational AI icon on the lead, and hover over it to see when it was activated.
The AI is not responding to texts for an automation
It is disabled by default. Open the automation, click Settings, then Conversational AI, select Enable, and click Save Conversational AI Preference.
You changed the setting but nothing happened
Your change is not applied until you click Save Conversational AI Preference.
Summary
You enabled the Conversational SMS AI. For a single lead, you opened it, used the Actions menu to choose Enable Conversational AI, and confirmed, then checked the icon to see it was active. For an automation, you opened its Settings, went to Conversational AI, selected Enable, and clicked Save Conversational AI Preference.
