Overview
Marking a lead dead does not delete it. The record stays in your Dead Leads pipeline with its full history, and you can bring it back at any time.
This is worth knowing, because sellers change their minds. A lead that went nowhere in March is often a deal in September.
Steps
Step 1: Open your Dead Leads pipeline
Go to the Dead Leads pipeline.
Step 2: Select the property
Select the property or record you want to bring back.
Step 3: Click its current status
Just below the property address you will see its current status — Dead Leads.
Click it.
Step 4: Choose the pipeline
Choose the pipeline you want the lead moved to — for example Active Leads.
You can move it to any pipeline on your account, not just the one it came from.
Step 5: Choose the status
Select the status you want it to go into.
Pick the status that reflects where the conversation actually stands now, rather than where it left off.
Step 6: Click Change Status
Click Change Status.
The lead now appears in the pipeline and status you chose.
Important Notes
Marking a lead dead is reversible. Nothing is deleted, and the record keeps its history. Customers often assume otherwise and avoid using dead status at all, which leaves their active pipeline clogged.
The status control sits below the property address. This is the same control used to move any lead between pipelines — reactivating a dead lead is not a special function.
You can send it to any pipeline, so a lead that died as a seller lead can come back wherever it now belongs.
Choose the status deliberately. Returning a lead to the status it died in usually misrepresents it. If the seller has just called you back, that is not a new, untouched lead.
The dead reason recorded earlier is worth reading before you call. Knowing why it died — price, timing, went with an agent — shapes how you open the conversation.
Working your dead leads periodically is one of the cheapest sources of deals you already own.
Troubleshooting
You cannot find the lead in Dead Leads
Check the pipeline it was moved to. If someone reactivated it already, it will be in an active pipeline rather than Dead Leads.
You cannot find the status control
It sits directly below the property address on the lead.
The lead came back into the wrong pipeline
Click the status again and move it. There is no limit on how many times a lead can be moved.
You want to bring back several dead leads at once
Select them from list view and change their status as a bulk action.
You are not sure which status to use
Use whatever reflects the current conversation. If the seller has re-engaged, an early follow-up status is usually more accurate than the one it died in.

Summary
You reactivated a dead lead. You opened the Dead Leads pipeline, selected the property, and clicked its current status below the property address. You chose the pipeline to move it to — such as Active Leads — selected an appropriate status, and clicked Change Status. The lead returned to your active pipeline with its history intact.
