How to Create Manual Automations for Buyers in REsimpli

Written by Anthony Estrada

Overview

A manual buyer automation is one you switch on yourself, for a particular buyer, rather than one that fires on its own.

It suits work that only applies to some buyers — starting a follow-up sequence, marking someone as a VIP, or handing them to a different team member.

Steps

Part 1: Build the Automation

Step 1: Open your manual buyer automations

  1. Go to Automations.

  2. Click Buyers.

  3. Select Manual Assignment.

  4. Add an automation and click Save.

Step 2: Set your timing

Choose your delay preference:

  • Day-based

  • Delay-based — gives finer control, since each step can be set in minutes, hours, days, or weeks

Step 3: Add a task step

  1. Add a task and give it a name, or select one of your task templates.

  2. If no template fits, create the task here.

Step 4: Add any other steps

You can also:

  • Send an SMS

  • Send an email to the buyer

  • Add a note

  • Add a tag

  • Mark the buyer as a VIP, or unmark them

  • Assign a team member

  • Move them to a different call flow

  • Change their status

  • Notify team members

Step 5: Choose your notification channel

When notifying your team, pick how they hear about it. The in-app channel sends the notification through the mobile app.

For in-app to reach someone, two things must be true:

  • They have the mobile app installed

  • Their device is set to accept notifications from REsimpli

Then add your notification text.

Step 6: Save

Click Save.

Part 2: Enable It on a Buyer

Step 7: Check the buyer

Open a buyer and click the automation button to see whether anything is already running on them.

Step 8: Add the automation

  1. Click Add Automation.

  2. Select the automation you created.

It is now enabled for that buyer.

Step 9: Check what will happen

Click the automation to see:

  • The steps the system will carry out

  • The execution date and time for each

  • A preview

Important Notes

  • Manual automations do not start on their own. You enable them per buyer, which is the point — they are for selective work.

  • Delay-based timing gives finer control than day-based, down to minutes.

  • VIP status can be set or removed by an automation, so you do not have to flag buyers by hand.

  • Moving a buyer to a different call flow changes how their inbound calls are routed.

  • In-app notifications need both the app installed and device notifications enabled. If someone is not receiving them, check both before assuming the automation failed.

  • The preview shows exactly what will go out before anything runs.

Troubleshooting

Your automation has not run

  • It has to be enabled on the buyer by hand. Open the buyer, click the automation button, and add it.

Someone is not receiving in-app notifications

  • Check they have the mobile app installed and that their device is set to accept notifications from REsimpli. Use SMS or email as well if you need certainty.

You want to see what will be sent before it goes

  • Click the automation on the buyer record. It shows every step with its execution time and a preview.

A task was created without an assignee

  • Check the assignee on the task step.

Calls from a buyer are reaching the wrong person

  • Add a move to a different call flow step.

Summary

You built a manual automation for buyers. Under Automations, Buyers, and Manual Assignment you created it, chose day-based or delay-based timing, and added steps — a task from a template, SMS and email, notes and tags, VIP marking, a team assignment, a call flow change, a status change, and a team notification. You then enabled it on a buyer and reviewed its steps, execution times, and preview.
